Hydrating Summer Recipes for Kids
Summer is finally here (in case the overwhelming heat didn’t give that away), and if you have kids you know exactly what that means: dehydration. Getting children to stop and take a sip of water is as easy as herding cats — as in, it’s not. At all.
As parents who’ve been personally victimized by the “but mom! I’m not even thirsty!”, we know a thing or two on how to keep kids hydrated during all their outdoor adventures. The secret? Popsicles and mocktails.
The best part is that they’re not plain water, so even the pickiest food critics should love these recipes.
Keep Their Adrenals Going
Adrenals are a set of glands that sit on top of each kidney. They’re part of the endocrine system and play a crucial role in producing hormones that regulate things like energy levels, immune function, and electrolyte balance.
These kid-friendly recipes not only taste great but are designed specifically to make sure those adrenals are ready for anything and everything summer (and kids) throws their way.
Adrenal-Friendly Base Mix
The base of both of these recipes is our very own mSalt and mCollagen — two ingredients that are powerhouses when it comes to adrenal function. For an electrolyte boost we take our flakey Icelandic salt that’s hand-harvested from salt beds virtually untouched by civilization. And to make sure the body is properly taking in all the minerals and vitamins the adrenals need via the gut, we add collagen!
